I-Yin learnt Ballet, Tap and Modern dance as a child. In her college years, she was actively involved in performing in college musical productions doing mostly Modern dance. She chanced upon Salsa in Dec 2005 while living in Thailand, nudged by her British Columbian friend to join her in salsa lessons. A curious "check it out" session at the dance studio turned out to be a life-changing experience. Hooked on the music more than the steps at that time, she embarked on her salsa journey since then and never looked back.
In 2007 she took up lessons at Dance Spirit after returning to KL. After a few months she was given the opportunity to join the Dance Spirit Performance Team. In 2008 she was chosen to undergo training as a trainee-instructor. Learning to teach has given her new insight into salsa dancing, and a whole new enjoyable experience of being able to share that insight with someone else.
Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration ~ Thomas Edison "I truly believe in the power of hard work and practice. With hard work and passion, anything is possible! So to you guys and gals out there who think that you're perpetually forgetting the steps, or that you just simply can't do that double spin after driving yourself nauseous for the umpteenth times¡Be Inspired, Stay Inspired, But More So, Get Perspiring!" |
